ARTIFICIAL SATELLITES COLLISION PREDICTION / MANEUVER: A research proposal for space activities surveillance

Giorgio Eugenio Oscare Giacaglia

Abstract

Suppose we ask what (non-maneuverable ) satellites, whose positions are well known at time t0, are likely to be very close or even collide at some future time. Let all known satellites at time t0, constitute the “population set” which, in terms of coordinates and velocities, is a subset of the phase-space. For easier understanding, we will consider a two-dimensional phase space.
